The second Muay Thai guy couldn't figure it out. I hope this inspires more people to enter competitations and not use the "but the rules" excuse. Also, I will show you a funny game of chess that happened...

Karate vs Muay Thai (No Gloves Kickboxing Match)

One of the coolest variations to kickboxing competitions. Instead of a ring or cage setting, they put sandbangs in a ring format. There are no elbows, but knees and limited clinch is allowed. And on top of that, there is only wraps and no gloves. Let's see how a Karateka does in this. I just cant take serious Kyokushin Rules, even the black belt is not holding his arms to protect face, on the second fight the Muai Thay guy have the instinct to hold his arms up once in a while even not being necessary, all those fights ll' resume to sticking very close e and punch each other stomach repeatedly until someone get heavily inured in the liver or give up, i ll' guess because i'm ignorant on this subject even the kicks were made to close distance moving forward, which is a perfect fighting style for a bulky small guy. Turtle your arm's on your belly, get ready to grab kicks following with a tumble or check kick's with your knees to win the pain game, side step every time the karateka short the distance seen to best strategy on those rules soo far.

    If Tian Ye would have taken a page from George Dillman's book and said "Niing" when he threw that elbow, Xiaodong would have crumbled. I think Xiaodong must have studied Dillman and had his tongue placed in the right position. If you look closely you'll see Xiaodong has one big toe up and the other one down and therefore cannot be knocked out.

    Simple.. TKD cannot fight close. Boxer should have closed the distance and finished it. Push kick/front kick to control boxers distance.

    I think that if the Tai Chi guy spent more time training in this mode that he would become more effective. I don’t think his technique is total trash, he just needs some time to adapt his system and also maybe add legs into the mix.

    I played around with JKD back in the day, as part of my fitness routine. I only practiced from the actual books. So I class the book JKD as real, or pure JFK. I noticed this guy used some JKD leg blocks that many of the modern JKD guy seems to have forgotten.

    The no punching to the head rule is the most stupid rule ever. It create bad habit of dropping their hand. I get it, they want to do bare knuckle sparring to train. I'm cool with that, but there are time and place for training. In actual competition, wear a light glove and fight.

    C'mon, the blue guy is clearly decent. He just allows himself to experiment with some more out there moves like those flailing arms (looked like PiQua to me) because it's that type of sparring, where you can afford to, and in fact should experiment. But he obviously has some of the fundamentals down

    • @WarriorBoy
      @WarriorBoy 7 годин тому

      I'm going to offer the counter-opinion that blue mask barely knew anything and would be starched by someone with...let's say 2 months of boxing or kickboxing.

    • @Orimthekeyacolite
      @Orimthekeyacolite 6 годин тому

      @@WarriorBoy then how would you explain all those punches landing, especially as counters under fire? Or the footwork? It doesn't matter if his opponent is a can, those body mechanics show some skill even on a punching bag. Also, neither here nor there, but if you know anything about training, you should understand that 2 months of kickboxing are indistinguishable from 0 months of kickboxing, at least unless there is already a solid base built by training something else for years.

    • @WarriorBoy
      @WarriorBoy 3 години тому

      @@Orimthekeyacolite Blue Mask was fighting someone living in a fantasy world, that's how his punches landed. I've seen two drunk idiots on the sidewalk land punches on each other before, that doesn't reflect any level of training at all. I watched it again, if a student going 2-3 times a week looked like Blue Mask after 2 months, then they should get a new instructor. Their swinging punches looked like flailing windmills from a mentally challenged orangutan. Knowing a very basic guard, just your typical hands up, would nullify every bit of nonsense they were using. It's just that his opponent was the manifestation of Otaku shut-in keyboard nerds who believe some obscure Kung Fu style with no recorded footage or evidence of ever having been used in a fight is the deadliest style known to man. That's what they really look like in action and can be beaten by anyone reasonably athletic or determined.

    The dude in the black shirt looked like he was trying a bunch of stuff he saw other people do, a lot of big side kicks early on, near the middle it looked like he tried deflecting punches with his windmilling arms and near the end at 2:34 it looked like he tried to get into a long stance I've mainly seen in Bajiquan, the kind Leo uses in Tekken. But all done like someone who saw the basic shapes without knowing how to actually do them.

    Here is the problem I have with this match. If the taichi master wanted to box in order to do some realistic/resistance training, I think that's a brilliant idea. Every martial art student should do that. BUT, don't tell me this was taichi. There was no taichi done here. So I don't know what was the point.
